Volka — the great swift fish of the open sea. The deep fleets go out for it.
Notes
Six to ten Paelm, torpedo shaped, steel blue above and silver below, and built for nothing but speed. It runs far offshore in schools and is taken by boats that follow it for days. A single Volka is worth a good week to a crew, which is why fleets will risk waters they would otherwise avoid to find one. The flesh is dark, rich and dear, and it reaches the northern cities packed in salt at prices that put it on the tables of people who want it seen.
