Notes
The largest flying animal in the Known World, twenty to twenty-four feet across the wings and a hundred and fifty to two hundred pounds. Heavy and powerfully built, with a massive hooked beak that will crush bone. Dark brown to bronze, with lighter markings under the wings that flash when it banks.
Holds the wide arid country between the forested territories, hunting from height across ground where nothing can hide. It sees a long way and stoops from further than a person can watch. The reason the dry interior is crossed rather than settled, and crossed quickly.
