Gaesla — waterfowl; the broad-billed swimming bird of rivers, ponds and harbor edges.
Notes
Everywhere there is standing water. Taken for meat and eggs where it can be caught, and kept in some households in the south, though it is a poor prisoner and generally leaves.
It survives what the ground-dwellers did not by flying, and by nesting on water where nothing heavy can follow.
