Waeva — the wild river animal; the untamed counterpart of the Slyva.
Notes
Lives in family groups along every river and river mouth in the Known World. Smaller than a Slyva, warier, and entirely uninterested in people.
Eldershore’s harbor keepers hold that the Slyva was taken from Waeva stock long ago and bred to what it is, and nobody disputes it. The two will not tolerate each other and a harbor group will drive a Waeva off a quay with considerable feeling.
Bony plating runs along the back beneath the fur, coarser than the Slyva’s and more of it.
