Aesloes — a person who arrives able to give an aeslae that answers to nothing. A family nobody has heard of, a station that does not exist, and a city that is on no map.
Notes
They are not being evasive and they are not confused about their own history. They know where they were born, who their people are and what they did before. None of it corresponds to anywhere.
They generally arrive without the Spraecha, speaking something nobody can place, and acquire it after eating Oelwy. That is simply what is done and has been done for as long as people have been arriving. Nobody knows why it works.
Afterward they can answer any question put to them, at length, and the answers help nobody. The Academy has a small literature on the subject which is mostly a list of things that have been ruled out.
They are rare. Most people go a life without meeting one and would know exactly what they were looking at if they did.
An Aesloes who can look after themselves is a stranger with no traceable history, which is awkward and not dangerous. An Aesloes who cannot is a Fyndra, and there is nothing to weigh — no house will pay and no city will claim them. Most cannot. The ones who can were generally doing something particular before they arrived.
