Eating Out
A Therplae sells food, drink, and beds, and most people eat at one because their rooms have no oven: two to three Braell for a cheap meal, six to ten for a good one, and the same table on the same night for twenty years (see Clubs and Societies#The Therplae table). Stalls feed the midday street — bread and something hot, held in the hand, a Braell or two. Eating houses are a Shining Reach invention and obsession: dinner at one to three Serath, the cook known by name, and the room read as carefully as the food.
