Siknei — sexual union. The ordinary word for the act, and to perform it.
Notes
Neutral in every register. A physician writes it, a magistrate records it in a marriage contract, and two people in a tavern use the same word. There is no polite alternative and no crude one, and the Known World does not find the subject delicate enough to require either.
It was a number once, and had already stopped being a joke long before it reached the Tongue.
