Tanket — thank you, and I hate it; said of a thing received that nobody wanted.

Notes

A joke, and only ever a joke, said between people who like each other. A gift nobody can refuse, a task handed down, news that has ruined a week.

Said to an equal or a friend it is funny. Said upward, or in public, or to anybody whose regard a person needs, it is simply rude, and everybody knows the difference by about seven years old.
