Kelva — charcoal. Wood burned down slow for the forge.
Notes
The northern forges run on it and the charcoal burners who make it work the forest edge in a trade that is dirty, solitary, and better paid than it looks. Fyrn makes the bulk of it; Halvek makes the best and almost nobody can justify the cost. Where coal seams are within reach the forges use those instead, which is most of Forgegate’s business. Kelva is what a city burns when it has trees and no seam.
