Igmeich — a fire mark; a plaque on a building saying its protection has been paid for.
Notes
Ignei + meirch. Only the Iron Coves uses them. An unmarked building burns while the brigade stands in the street, though they will wet down a marked neighbor, which everybody understands and nobody thanks them for.
