Fellwyr — the stock-killer. Recorded in the old registers, hunted through the early centuries, and assumed gone.
Notes
A mid-sized predator that took herds and yard beasts and did not trouble people. The early registers are full of it — losses recorded season by season, bounties posted, hunts organized across whole agricultural rings.
Then the entries thin, and then they stop. The last account anyone credits is more than three centuries old.
It is assumed gone, which is not the same as known to be. The frontier is enormous and very little of it is walked. A farmer who loses stock to a bite that does not match anything will be told he is mistaken, and he generally is.
The Fellwyr was engineered pre-Fall to destroy an enemy’s livestock, the third of the food-denial weapons alongside the Chirska and the Ryda. It is the only one people were ever able to fight, because it was the only one that did not fight back. It took three hundred years and it worked.
The Vennek was built to counter two things and has only one left. Its build is more than a Svaekoil requires.
