Boend is the fourth month of the Yeirath: late spring, given to bonds, love, and nurturing, and to the Family aspect of the Oathbond. Like every month it has forty-five days in five nine-day weeks, beginning on Daun and ending on Stil.

Children born in Boend are said to be lucky, which is a thing people say in every city and believe in none of them. Soyl, the Longest Light, falls at its end — the festival most associated with courtship, on which most of the world's proposals are made.
