aefka
Stage Modern CLT
Pronunciation /ˈaɪf.ka/
Part of speech Adjective; Adverb
Etymology from Middle āfkā, from Proto afka
Related words beirbei

aefka — away; absent; not where one is looked for.

Notes

The ordinary word for a person who is simply not here — out of the shop, off the ship, away from the bench. Carries no blame on its own: a man may be aefka for perfectly good reasons, and the word says nothing about them. A slave described as aefka, however, is a matter for someone.
