Naethwr is the first month of the Yeirath: late winter, given to genuine nature and self-examination, and to the Personal aspect of the Oathbond. Like every month it has forty-five days in five nine-day weeks, beginning on Daun and ending on Stil.
The year opens in the cold with the question everyone is supposed to ask themselves, which is what they actually are. Naethwr and Eiveil are the dead of the trading year: the roads are at their worst, the northern sea is closed, and merchants stay home and settle their accounts. It follows Reimach, the Remaking, at the turn of the year.
