Tauw — the coarse fiber plant grown for cordage and sailcloth; the raw fiber itself.
Notes
A tall, fast, unfussy crop that tolerates poor soil and short seasons. Grown chiefly along the Guild Road corridor and in the thin fields around Stormharbor, and bought by every city-state in the world. The least admired plant in cultivation and among the most necessary. Nothing sails, hauls, moors, or lifts without it, and a failed Tauw harvest is felt in every harbor within the year. Sold raw by the Baelk; the cordage twisted from it is Taul.
