Talvi — the small intense fruit of Clearhold’s high terraces, dried for keeping.
Notes
Small, slow to ripen, and concentrated by the cold nights of the high valley into a flavor the lowland fruits cannot match. Dried Talvi keeps for years without spoiling, which makes it both a caravan provision and a luxury: the same fruit feeds a teamster on the Mountain Way and finishes a Shining Reach dinner. Native to the mountain, like most of what Clearhold grows. Its wild form is still found above the orchards and is edible, if sour and hardly worth the climb.
Native to Teraell, and hard in the way native plants are — the tissue lays down mineral as it grows, so the leaf is stiff and faintly glassy and a blade dulls on it.
