Appearance
| teitlae | |
|---|---|
| Stage | Modern CLT |
| Pronunciation | /ˈteɪt.laɪ/ |
| Part of speech | Interjection |
| Etymology | from Middle titlā, from Proto titla |
| Related words | sya, beirbei |
teitlae — until we speak again; the standard close of a letter and of an unhurried parting.
Notes
Warmer than sya and slower. Sya ends a conversation; teitlae assumes another. It is the ordinary sign-off in correspondence across every city-state and the last line of most letters that expect an answer. To omit it from a letter to a friend is noticed.
