Hwysra — the soft temperate moss that releases a sleeping spore when disturbed.
Notes
A soft pale-green moss that grows in thick beds on shaded ground, deep enough to lie down in and inviting to look at. The spores lift at any disturbance.
Inviting to look at and to lie on. A person who settles into a bed of it does not get up, and what happens after is slow and not worth describing.
The spores are harvested deliberately and carefully, and are the basis of the surgical sleep every physician in the Known World uses. Every patient who wakes from surgery with no memory of it owes that to a plant that was made to kill them.
