One language is spoken in the Known World. There is no second one, there never has been, and nobody has ever needed to learn another. Its name is the Razoenra Spraecha, the reasoned speech, and in ordinary use simply the Spraecha. Every person born here speaks it from the cradle, and every person who arrives speaks it within days, which nobody in the world can explain.
This wiki calls it the Common Reason Tongue (CLT) — a name no speaker uses; see Meta:Conventions for why.
The tongue
