|---|---|
| Stage | Modern CLT |
| Pronunciation | /ˈwɪn/ |
| Part of speech | Prefix |
| Etymology | from Middle un-, from Proto un |
| Related words | Wyndreis, Wyndrif |
wyn- — the undoing prefix; reverses the action of the word it is attached to.
Notes
Attaches to verbs of doing to make verbs of undoing, as Wyndreis from dreis and Wyndrif from Drif. Old, and no longer productive; a person coining a new word today would say it another way.
