Vespra — a nest of Vespa, and the ground it holds. A place rather than a creature.
Notes
A colony nests in the earth in enormous numbers and defends what it regards as its own out to a considerable distance. It does not hunt and does not follow. It answers what comes near, in force, and does not stop while the thing is still there.
A Vespra is spoken of as a location. They are known, marked on frontier charts, and simply not approached between Gaedhr and Abwynd. Some stretches of the Froeentra have been impassable in summer for as long as anyone has kept records, and nobody considers this strange — the country is full of things that will kill you, and this one at least stays where it is.
Engineered pre-Fall to deny ground. Every Vespra sits where something once stood that was worth denying, and none of it is there now.
